2 x green and red Super Soft Chenille Yarn suitable for 6mm hook, white fluffy velvet yarn suitable for 9mm hook

Pattern Notes
This pattern is worked with two strands of chenille yarn suitable for a 6mm hook which makes the stitches tight but soft. Make sure to use a single strand of fluffy white yarn suitable for a 9mm hook.
This pattern may be used with all types of yarn weight and hook; or finished off with any decorations. Be sure to use a bigger hook size for the hat. For example, if you use a 3.5mm hook for the base of the tree, use a 4mm hook for the hat.
Chain 1 at the beginning of rows do not count as a stitch.
This pattern was written in Australia using the metric system and US crochet terminology.
Tree Body 6mm Hook
Double strand green chenille yarn.
Base of Tree 6mm Hook
ch 13
Round 1.
2 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 10 st, 4 sc in last ch, sc in next 10 st down the other side of the foundation ch, 2 sc in last st, sl into first st (28 sc)
Round 2.
ch1, inc 2 times, sc in the next 10, st, inc 4 times, sc in next 10 st, inc 2 times, sl into first st (36 sc)
Round 3.
ch1, inc 3 times, sc in the next 12 sts, inc 6 times, sc in next 12 sts, inc 3 times, sl into first st (48 sc)
Eyes and Mouth
Place eyes between round 18 and 19 with 10 sts in between. Sew a small line for the mouth on the row under eyes in between them.
(If you’re unsure where the centre of the face should be, complete half of round 4 to help you line the eyes up)
Round 4.
Attach base to body of tree by placing a single crochet stitch through the base and the tree body.
With yarn still attached from round 3, line up body and base. Insert hook through st on the body and through base, yarn over, pull through both sts, yarn over, pull through both loops on hook. When you get halfway, stuff loosely. (48 sc)
Santa Hat 6.5mm Hook
Pom-pom
White fluffy yarn
Round 1. sc in magic ring (6 sc)
Round 2. inc in each st (12 sc)
Round 3. *inc, sc in next st* rep 6 times (18 sc)
Round 4-6. sc in each st. (4 rounds) (18 sc)
Round 7. *dec, sc in next st* rep 6 times (12 sc). Stuff loosely.
Round 8. *dec in each st* rep 6 times. sl into next st (6 sc). Fasten off. Leave a tail
Hat 6.5mm Hook
Double strand red chenille, and single strand white fluffy yarn.
Fasten off yarn. Attach to tree body and decorate, then you’re done.
