Lotus Doily
The Lotus Doily is a perfect mug coaster. This pattern may be used at Christmas time to make doilies and placemats with the Jolly Joy yarn from Spotlight Stores.
This Doily may be made with any hook size and yarn, however, it does look best and fits a mug using the recommended hook and yarn size in the pattern.
I love decorating the Lotus Doily with beads and making multiple doilys of different sizies and stacking them as they look like a lotus flower decorating my coffee table.

Round 1
ch 1, 12 sc in ring, sl into sc.
Round 2
ch 2, 2 dc in each st around, sl into dc.
Round 3
ch 1, sc in same st, ch 5, sk 1, *sc, ch 5, sk 1* rep 11 times, sl into sc.
Round 4
2 sl in ch, *sc in ch 5 sp, ch 4* rep 12 times, sl into sc.
Round 5
sl into ch 4 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), 4 dc in ch 4 sp, * 5 dc in next ch 4 sp* rep 11 times, sl into ch 3.
Round 6
ch 1, sc back into the sp between ch 3 and last dc from round 5, ch 3, sk ch 3, sk 1, sc in next st, *ch 3, sk 2, sc in sp between 2 dc, ch 3, sk 2 dc, sc in next st* rep 11 times, ch 3, sl into sc.
Round 7
sl in ch, sc in ch 3 sp, ch 4, *sc in next ch 3 sp, ch 4* rep 23 times, sl into sc.
Round 8
sl into ch 4 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch 4 sp, ch 1, *3 dc in ch 4 sp, ch 1* rep 23 times, sl into ch 3.
Round 9
ch 1, sc back into ch 1 sp, sk ch 3, (hdc, dc, hdc) in next st, sk 1, *sc in ch 1 sp, sk 1, (hdc, dc, hdc) in next st, sk 1* rep 23 times, sl into first sc.
Round 10
sl in 2 sts, ch 1, sc on top of dc, ch 5, *sc in next dc, ch 5* rep 23 times, sl into first sc.
Round 11
2 sl in ch, *sc in ch 5 sp, (5 dc, ch 2, 5 dc) in next ch 5 sp* rep 12 times, sl into first sc.
Fasten off, weave in ends, and you’re done.
